The Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch recently published an article that reinforces the case for properly diversifying your portfolio across a range of asset classes. The article also helps dispel the myth that a “boring” diversified portfolio will generate returns inferior to those of a concentrated portfolio that puts all of its eggs in one basket. And one of the best “take-aways” from the article: A diversified portfolio performs well long-term, regardless of which side is winning the an investor’s perpetual tug-of-war between fear and greed.
